question 1

if i was a scribe and had to tell all about the first question i would say that you can make your own values to go down by 10% also it is eaiser to do if you make an equation the equation will have a exponet and it will have a vaulue less then then the origional % or your own value.

toby-scribe response

If i was assigned as the scribe for a day i would start by writing out all the formulas for the different questions. this would be useful because when i started it took me a little while to remember everything we had learned earlier in the year. it's just like a little refresher course for people. example problems would also be useful so it's the same process but your not just giving people the answers because thats not constructive or helpful to them.
like for the linear functions part you might start by putting up Y=mx+b first so they know the formula for linear eqautions. then plugging numbers other thatn the ones from the original problem. maybe even explaining what each variable means or represents. plug in a value for X and Y so that they can maybe see how to solve for each. If possible showing how to gragh a positive and negative linear equation. having the kind of "bullet" marks by the side but numbers to show the process step by step.

1st Assignment May 9, 2008

Click here and search this blog. It belongs to a math teacher and his class. What kinds of activities are done with the blog? Who contributes? Follow a few of the links and see if you can find more than what is on the front page. Could we use any of these ideas on our blog? How?

Click here and search this blog. Answer the same questions as above. You may type your answers in a Word document and email it to Ms. Van ( vandanacker_katherin@stvrain.k12.co.us )

BTW - has anyone noticed the Twitter Updates in the bottom left corner? What do you know about Twitter?

2nd Assignment May 9, 2008

If you have started on the Practice Final...you may choose this activity instead.

If you were the class scribe for a day, what would you post on our blog that would help someone solve one of the problems on the practice final? Would you show steps? Would you ask questions? What kind of notes would you take that would help solve one of these problems?

Send Ms. Van an email with your ideas and she will email you back with instructions on how to make that post on our blog! (vandanacker_katherin@stvrain.k12.co.us )
